It started with a robot.
The three founders, with a background in architecture, structural engineering, and robotic engineering, crossed paths in Stuttgart. Their shared mission is to use technology to push the boundaries of the AEC industry.
In their research at the University of Stuttgart, they explored the use of collective robotic construction, bio-materials in structural design, and computational design techniques. The award-winning Livmats pavilion showcased how they were able to apply their digital expertise on a building scale.
In their professional careers, they have worked at a range of international AEC companies including Arup, IntCDC, Werner Sobek, and Menges Sheffler Architects in the roles of computational designer and software developer.
Here they contributed to complex large-scale building projects including the segmented timber shell of the Large-Scale Construction Robotics Laboratory and the large-spanning freeform roof of Kuwait Airport. Their work was not limited to building projects but also spanned global parametric design software, with Arup InForm and Veracity.
